About Tanja
Tanja studied at the London College of Garden Design based in the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, graduating with distinction. Tanja is passionate about design and believes in creating a collaborative & informal relationship with clients.
Prior to her career in Garden Design, Tanja worked as a dentist before realising that she craved a more creative path. She formally retained in garden design and set up the studio shortly after.
Tanja has been living in the UAE since 2008.
The Studio
Gardens by Design is a design practice, offering a garden & landscape design service.
Based in Motorcity, the studio works on design projects across Arabian Ranches, Victory Heights, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Jumeirah Luxury Living, Dubai Hills and Emirates Living (Meadows, The Lakes, Springs).
As a small garden design studio, we specialise in residential gardens varying in scale from small courtyards (e.g. The Springs community & Jumeirah Luxury Living) to larger gardens (e.g. Arabian Ranches, Victory Heights, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai Hills etc)
When designs are complete, we work with tried and tested landscaping teams to bring designs to reality.
The studio’s design style is first and foremost site and climate led. Our designs are a fine balance of practicality and elegance. Our goal is to create gardens which are context appropriate, more sustainable, both in terms of planting and in terms of material selection. An effortless extensions of your home.
The studio avoids designing gardens that have large areas of cultivated lawns, in order to help protect our precious water resources.
